Dream girl

An hour before sunset, she realized it was about time to head home. The little walk, which
she'd originally intended to do in a hour, ended up taking three because she frequently
found herself slowing to admire the scenery.
The late afternoon was cold. She became aware of a man watching her. She examined him
surreptitiously out of the corner of her eye. Big mistake. She heard his step behind her as
he caught up with her. "Hi!"
Lorna Reede sighed inwardly and put on her best smile. "Oh! Hi, hello." Although he was well-featured
and nicely built, she was not interested. Lorna attempted to continue down the street when he asked,
"Are you headed home?"
Be still, she reminded herself. "Yes, it's getting late and I tend to dislike strangers. If you'll excuse me ... "
He smiled at her. "It's a pity."
She stopped. "What's that?"
"I'm going to marry you... I know it! "
Lorna looked closely at the man, tossed her head and pealed laughter.
"I'm not your type, huh?" Man asked smiling.
"I don't have a type."
"You actually don't remember me, do you?"
"Should I?” Lorna replied.
He shrugged and grinned at her. "Four years ago, science convention in Denver."
"Jace Hamilton." she said immediately.
"I never thought I left such a impression that you would remember me."
"You didn't." Lorna smirked. "I just rarely forget the name. Did you chase me all the way to NY?""
"I wish I could flatter you and say yes, but I'm here on business." Jace confessed simply. "It was a nice surprise to see you here. By the way I've seen your pictures in magazines once or twice," he added." You really are gifted photographer."
"I know"
"Ooh, modest too!"
Lorna laughed throatily.
"Are you staying here long?"
"Yeah couple of months actually" Jace said softly.
"Wonderful."
"I still owe you a date. Care to take me up on it?"
"The steak place in Bar Harbor closed two years ago."
"Oh, no!" He laughed. "Cafe "Sanctuary" then. Tomorrow. 7 o'clock."
"It's a date." She kissed his cheek.
He caught a faint whiff of musky perfume and felt the gentle press of her breast against his arm, and
knew they were going to sleep together. Knew it not as wishful thinking, but as a simple fact of nature,
as inevitable as the change of seasons.
As she moved off into the crowd, she glanced back and in her emerald eyes he saw that same knowledge.

My original characters Lorna Reede and Jace Hamilton meet for the first time.
Lorna is one of the most proficient professional assassins in the business. She poses as a freelance photographer. Jace is a Defence attorney and soon to be Lorna's boyfriend. He knows nothing of her true profession.
